N.O.I.A. - The Rule To Survive (Looking For Love) (1983)

Wonderful italo track from '83 (though it takes about a minute to get cooking) from N.O.I.A.
F.Y.I. - This is a group with a Klien & MBO connection...make sure you read the in depth bio here. The cover is a bit "Country Life"esque too if you catch my reference.

The sequenced bass parts get me every time. Looking for love!

Secret Service - Let Us Dance Just A Little Bit More (1985)

Love Love LOVE this Secret Service song. Sweeping and beautiful.

This is one of many wonderful songs by this excellent early 80s synth pop band from Sweden. Definitely do your homework and check out their other great albums and other 12"s too!

You might already know "Flash In The Night" which of their biggest hits (and used for a great climax to one of the RR's favorite movies of '08, Låt den rätte komma in aka Let The Right One In, check it out!)

Zaine Griff - The Scandinavian (1980)

Cool bowie-ultravoxish track from Zaine Griff circa 1980. Produced by Bowie/T-Rex producer Tony Visconti and... If I recall correctly, I think all the synth work is done by (now big-time composer) Hans Zimmer.

Spooky Voice - Killing Myself (1986)

12" cover post of the year?

mike on the tele

mike has his way with the ladies

For you today is an extra-awesome and moody vocoder filled track (the instrumental mix has loads of it). Surprisingly it seems to be not very well known (this should have and could have charted high on on the CBS...RIP). Also, this track is produced by none other than the great love spy himself, Mike Mareen. Released on Night'n Day Records circa '86.

But hang tight... lets not let the music get all the glory. Look at that cover! Might be a Red Room contender for 12" cover post of the year (with i only dance for money getting second, of course). Complete with a bloody bullet hole turned into letting along side 80s strip mall glamour shot photo. Very nice!
